Akshaya Nagar Residents Association (ANRA) was established in 1992. A meeting of House owners and plot owners of Akshaya Nagar met at the residence of late Natarajan and elected the office bearers and authorised to register the association with the competent authorities.
Thereafter, our Akshaya Nagar steadily started developing and more members constructed their homes in the colony. When we go back to nintees and early two thousands, we started living in the nagar, and our children developed their close company and enjoyed life in the nagar. Today our children have mostly became parents of their kids, and most of them had moved out of our nagar, to their places of livelihood.
The contribution of Smt Lalitha teacher, Kamalini is memorable, for tarring our colony roads, and putting street lights during her tenure as a Counsellor of Trivandrum Corporation. The leadership of late Krishanan Nair, Kamalini, is also to be remembered with love and respect. He served as our President for long terms. During his period we developed our Akshaya Nagar by starting our yearly family get-together etc.
During early years we were afraid of floods during mansoon as we had chosen to live in the banks of Karamana river. However, the minor irrigation department of the State has constructed river bank walls in the past two/three years making us live a peaceful life in the colony.
